If you have this error during the compilation of Active Query Builder or one of the demo projects included in the installation package, make sure that another version of the 'spin.pas' file is not present in the Library path of your Delphi IDE (or in the PATH environment variable if this error comes during the installation procedure). Chances are this might be the TMS Components Pack (ex TNT controls library) directory. Temporal removing this folder from the path will solve the problem. 

Having the Full version of Active Query Builder with source code you'll be able to recompile Active Query Builder it with any version of controls installed in your system. Building the component with the TMS Components Pack instead of standard VCL controls is also possible having the version with source code.
