I would absolutely like to see a Mono version of Active Query Builder
Mono (the open source .net implementation) offers a migration path (Porting Winforms Applications ) from Windows forms applications. Judging by the funcionality exposed in Active Query Builder and the Mono coverage (Mono & Ms .Net Compatibility ), hopefully no major issues would arise and ActiveDBSoft would have a new product branch with just the cost of an easy migration. Mono allows the creation of cross platform applications as Java does, and Windows applications built on top of Active Query Builder would benefit from the same migration path. Otherwise, we would only have the chance to recode our products upon the Active Query Builder Java Edition, which seems to me very unnatural and undesirable. It may be just me, but as .Net developer, going for Java would be a step backward.
The non-visual core of the newly released major version is 100% mono-compatible. There'll be no problems to implement the UI in any visual components library for Mono.
