could you please check the QueryBuilder.View.Winforms.Devexpress references? Seems it references the old version.
If this does not help, could you please send me the full compiler error message?

Downloaded the fix and step one was to recompile the devexpress dll with version 2016.1. This fails INavigationPopup cannot be found... So I cannot confirm the fix.

This isn't something we've been able to repoduce here. Can you reproduce it with our DevExpress general demo?
If yes, please describe the steps to reproduce and your environment. What is exact version of Active Query Builder? What is the version of DevExpress controls you use? Is it the DevExpress theme or OS settings that makes borders of child windows so thin?
If no, please send us a test project in which this problem could be reproduced.
